Grr, bks, pestilence etc.

I’ve had a DPF pressure sensor code come up. Ostensibly quite an easy job to replace it, were it not for 14 year old rubber and plastic.

Managed to get the larger diameter hose off with a little heating and swearing, but the smaller one has now sheared off. Tried to pull it out with pliers but it’s now stuck with nothing poking out to grab. Internal diameter is quite small. I can get an electrical screwdriver through it, but not enough purchase to come out.

I’d be tempted to cut the end of the hose off but its already quite tight access…

Any suggestions to get it out? Failure will mean my mechanic friend coming round tomorrow and losing LOTS of man points.

Bit of washing up liquid and try and get a thin bladed screwdriver between the plastic and rubber, once you get a bit of liquid in between it should start to move.

Screw a self tapper into it, and molegrips on the screw perhaps?

Self tapping screw, woodscrew or similar. Screw it in and pull with pliers.

Worst case cut it and get more vacuum hose and a barbed joiner piece - Amazon maybe?

Thanks… did this with the other side (minus waahing up liquid) but dont want to split the hose if i can avoid it…also not sure if the DPF will enjoy stuff in it!

Success! Good shout. I’ve never had this a tually work before, every other time it’s just shredded the part.

Fingers crossed car is fixed now. £28 and no garages interacted with, great success!
