Kia Picanto 2007

Hello, does anyone have a walkthrough on how to remove and replace the front two abs sensors? ive looked everywhere and cant find it.

reason for replacement is ive changed all rotors and break pads and cleaned things up, however, ive noticed that at 10-30mph when i stop, every now and then ill get brake pedal kickback, so ive been told by a garage that it would be my tone ring giving false readings and ill need a full driveshaft replacement...

ive looked into CV joints which is an option, however, trying the process of elimination, ive thought about replacing the ABS sensor or at least get it off to clean it just in case theres surface rust on the anchor point which give it a false reading.

but if i have to remove it, is there a walkthrough on how to do it?

my second question is similarly related to the above.

after changing the rotars and brakes, when driving and braking, im hearing a metal on metal noise, normally it would be due to the brake pads been too worn, but ive replaced them all, could the cover be the issue? ive cleaned all achor points and the calipers too so im lost lol.

hope you can help.

Michael.

With those symptoms reluctor ring is far more likely than sensor failure.

in my experience you have zero chance of getting an old abs sensor out in 1 piece.m they are typically a single bolt. take the wheel off and look for the cable.

metal on metal sound could be the dust covers, but you ought to be able to see that.

Without being rude, how competent are you? are you sure you did the discs/pads correctly? slider pins lubed etc?

I had this issue with my 2011 kia soul, left it into a garage to diagnose that and another issue, they read the code and said it was the abs sensor.
Bought one and fitted it myself - fairly easy job - 1 bolt into the hub (mine pulled out no problem) then a couple of other bolts along the cable route, had to pull the wheel liner down to get at the connector.
Unfortunately it didn't fix it as it was the abs ring.
Threw the car into my mechanic to get the clutch done and bought a replacement outer joint for him to fit while he had it apart. The ABS rings on both sides fell apart when he popped the drive shafts out of the hubs, so bought a second one. He couldn't get the outer joints off the end of the drive shafts so i then bought just the rings which he was able to heat up and fit which cured the problem.
