Anyone happen to have both sizes of 3/8" Teng torque wrench
Discussion
It's a long shot but thought i'd ask here.
My current 1/2" silverline torque wrench won't fit in to torque up a suspension bolt on my car but my Teng 3/8" 5-25Nm wrench does fit, however the torque range is obviously not high enough. My question is to anyone who owns both, is the head of the Teng 3/8" 20-110Nm torque wrench the same size as the 5-25 or is it bigger? I know it's longer but not sure about dimensions of the head. I can't really afford to buy one only to find out it won't fit where i need it to.
Cheers

Technically, that's going to adjust the torque force.
Practically, that's probably what I'd do!
Yeah, I thought that after I wrote it. Practically, that's probably what I'd do!
Maybe crank the torque up by 5% to compensate for any losses?

I feel stupid now, i was even looking at those pages. I think for some reason i had in my mind that the width would just be the width of the bar. https://www.tengtools.com/uk/products/torque-tools...

Forgive my simplistic suggestion, but would it not be possible to overcome this problem by using a U/J and an extension to access the hard to reach bolt?
A universal joint won't fit either, it's a really awkward location. I've ordered a crows foot bit to see if that will fit in. if not i might buy this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motion-Pro-08-0380-Adjust...richhead said:
If you are going to do this, then pointless guessing and adjusting the wrench, just use a rachet or whatever fits, guessing a tourque is pointless, OP how critical is the tourque?
Well it's the front lower forward arm, where it connects to the subframe on a B7 Audi A4. Needs torquing to 70Nm + 180 degrees. I'm sure it would be fine to just do it by feel but i'm really OCD about torquing everything up to spec. zaanztepS said:

Yeah I would do that right just so you know it’s right. I seem to remember doing same job on an A5 - obviously need to use new bolts as they’re single use and then you put the car on the four poster so that the suspension is at deflection before you torque them. Don’t remember having a problem with access though and definitely didn’t use a UJ. Sorry that’s not a great deal of help but it definitely wasn’t a problem - are you trying to do it without a ramp maybe?
When i google it i can't find any threads on people having an issue and in the video i watched the guy fits a torque wrench in there fine so i wonder if my silverline one is just beefy. I don't have access to a lift anymore which is a pain so i just disconnected the drop link (else the car starts lifting before getting to ride height) and jacked the suspension up to ride height, torqued everything apart from the one i can't get to, then reconnected the link and jacked up until the car started lifting (about 2cm off from ride height) to torque those down. Yeah luckily i got a full set of febi bilstein bolts plus the full set that came with the Lemforder kit. I always change bolts if they've been torqued down, although it's bloody expensive.
