Antifreeze

Just wondering what everyones opinion is regarding which antifreeze to use?

Have been using Prestone for many years but price is now over double than the last lot I bought. Is it still worth paying extra for prestone or just use cheapie Drivetec?

Should be cheap enough on the eBay etc? I use Prestone screen wash.

You do know that price is for concentrate don't you?

It will make 12 litres of coolant when diluted 1:2.

What is the volume of your system?

I normally mix it around 1:1 so would be putting 3l in this system which takes 6.2l in total.

Ive always used run of the mill stuff as long as its the correct spec and your not mixing different types you should be ok.

What car do you own and what anti freeze does the factory recommend? The green stuff is fine if you change it often enough but certain GM, Mercedes, BMW cars require specific long life anti freeze for their cars. Using the wrong antifreeze can eat up seals.

This. I'd not put any generic stuff in my cars, stick to OEM. It's not that expensive and seldom changed.
