Alfa Mito Low Oil Pressure Warning

I recently changed all the filters (Oil, Air, Fuel & Cabin) on my 2012 Alfa Mito 1.3 JTDM that is approaching 100k miles.

Whilst the car runs much better, when idling a low oil pressure warning comes on telling me to switch off. A few revs soon gets rid of this warning. The oil I used was Castrol Magnetec 5/30.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If the mileage is well up people frequently go up a grade.

Whether that is the answer or not only some more googling will help you to decide.

Did it do this before you changed the oil?

I'd guess that given it goes away with revs, you do have low oil pressure on startup so don't ignore it.

I'd be looking at the filter. What brand is it? Can you swap an OEM filter in if not already?

It’s just done this changing the oil and filter. It’s a Mann Filter. I’m on holiday at the moment, but will change the filter when I get back as my thoughts too are that this could be the problem.
