Has anyone got a list of compatible platinum plugs, original spec is FR7ME, car currently has Bosch FR8SC+ but I can't seem to find a suitable platinum replacement.

best of relpacing like for like, if its an older car the ignition system may not like platinum plugs, they like lots of current.

The finer the electrode the lower the voltage requirements a plug has, so they could help a marginal ignition system.

FR7NPP332 is the Bosch platinum equivalent, PLFR6A-11 is the NGK platinum equivalent, ILZFR6A-11 is the NGK Iridium equivalent (£££!),

Thanks for those part numbers.

Interesting what you list as the NGK Iridium equivalent; I have tried NGK Iridium plugs and they did not work well and caused rough idle and low throttle misfire however they were ILFR6Bs. I wonder if they are a different temperature to the ILZFR6A-11 that you have suggested.

Seem to be finding that the platinum plugs are virtually the same price as the iridium ones now. For example the best price I can find a Bosch FR7NPP332 (platinum) for is £8.66 but I can also get a Denso IKH20 (iridium) for £8.50.

The '6' in the NGK part number indicate heat range, so they should be equivalent. Note that eBay and Amazon are absolutely rife with counterfeit Iridium plugs (mainly NGK) that have no precious metal in the electrodes, so don't be tempted by the lowest prices. Get them from a reputable source.

In this case pictures of the plugs had been sent and NGK confirmed that they were genuine.
