Has anyone got a list of compatible platinum plugs, original spec is FR7ME, car currently has Bosch FR8SC+ but I can't seem to find a suitable platinum replacement.
best of relpacing like for like, if its an older car the ignition system may not like platinum plugs, they like lots of current.Edited by NickCLotus on Thursday 30th May 21:16
The finer the electrode the lower the voltage requirements a plug has, so they could help a marginal ignition system.
FR7NPP332 is the Bosch platinum equivalent, PLFR6A-11 is the NGK platinum equivalent, ILZFR6A-11 is the NGK Iridium equivalent (£££!),

Thanks for those part numbers.FR7NPP332 is the Bosch platinum equivalent, PLFR6A-11 is the NGK platinum equivalent, ILZFR6A-11 is the NGK Iridium equivalent (£££!),
Interesting what you list as the NGK Iridium equivalent; I have tried NGK Iridium plugs and they did not work well and caused rough idle and low throttle misfire however they were ILFR6Bs. I wonder if they are a different temperature to the ILZFR6A-11 that you have suggested.

The '6' in the NGK part number indicate heat range, so they should be equivalent. Note that eBay and Amazon are absolutely rife with counterfeit Iridium plugs (mainly NGK) that have no precious metal in the electrodes, so don't be tempted by the lowest prices. Get them from a reputable source.Interesting what you list as the NGK Iridium equivalent; I have tried NGK Iridium plugs and they did not work well and caused rough idle and low throttle misfire however they were ILFR6Bs.
