LED replacements for Xenon D1S

My 2012 C350 has Xenon headlamps and they're not great.
I just discovered that recent to the market are LED bulbs with the D1S mounting that use the existing Xenon ballast with allegedly much improved output.
Before I fork out £80 for a pair, anyone got experience of these ? My previous experience with LED is that they're f-bright but not always reliable.

I’ve never known proper OEM xenons not be good enough.

Are they the original bulbs/cheapo replacements?

Also never known Xenons not be up to the task.

On top of that "aftermarket" LEDs are illegal.
