All, my ‘01 Civic’s SRS light came on today. The cheap scanner I’ve got showed no faults.

My other ‘01 Civic had the same light come on a few years ago, which turned out to be the alternator regulator. This is different because the light is on all the time, not after a few seconds of driving.

Can anyone recommend a cheap-ish scanner that would diagnose the fault?

Thanks.

cant help, but cheap and good dont often go hand in hand.
My old accord had an srs light on, it was a plug under the drivers seat, worth a look.

Trouble is, I have no way of re-setting the light, so even if I find a loose connector (I couldn't see anything obvious this morning), the light would still be on. Thanks.

A distant memory from years ago, but I seem to recall that it can be done with blink codes, all you need is a paper clip inserted into the correct plug... maybe ask on a Honda forum... or try a google.

Ah ok. Just have to find the fault then.

Driver's side seatbelt doesn't retract very well, so I suppose it could be something to do with that.

I cant say your car will be the same tho.
But with airbag lights its often the moving parts that fail, and most often the wires/plugs under the seats.
