Jump-lead question

Never thought about this before and I don't see why I can't do it. I need to jump one car from another. The batteries are both in the boot. Can I use the positive and negative posts under the bonnet of the 'good' car to start the flat one?

Thanks both. I assumed so, although I've only ever needed to do it the other way round (ie using the under bonnet posts on the 'flat' car).
