Mk5 Golf Key Fob won t Unlock Doors

Hi,

I’ve got a mk5 gti and recently replaced the ignition barrel as the key wouldn’t turn in it. I kept the original lock cylinder so I could keep using my old key in both the ignition and door.

I now have an issue where the fob won’t unlock the car remotely. You have to open with the key and it only opens the drivers door. However it locks the car fine.

Any ideas? There seems to be lots of posts online on how to resync the fob but none of them have worked so far.
