Can anyone tell me where to find the airbag control module in a 2000 Ford Puma, please? I presume it will be in the same location as a Fiesta mk5 of the same year, and think it may be in the vicinity of the gearstick. Tips on how to access it would also be useful. The Haynes manual for the Fiesta says an access hole has to be drilled but gives no further details.
Thanks!

The module is under the carpet in front of the gearstick/under the dash area.

Can't help you with precise location (have you tried googleing it & looking for images) but they are almost always in the centre of the car, as in transmission tunnel between seats/under rear seats depending on the size of the car.

Thanks, drmotorsport, I can now see it, but do you have any tips for extracting it?

Not really, my last Puma was a race car in 2018 and very stripped out. I suspect the quick and easy way would be to make a surgical inceision in the carpet to enable the loom to be disconnected and mounting bolts removed, the official way would probably require removing half the interior I expect..

Thanks again, drmotorsport, that was indeed the way forward. If anyone else is interested I cut the carpet on either side of the gearstick (under the plastic console) and then had just enough access to remove the module with a small 8mm rachet.
And thanks, E-bmw, but I needed model-specific information.
