Quick question never having done this before, I have seen the video, my daughter needs to replace the window switch cluster in her Jeep, looks straight forward, move the red retaining switch down, disconnect the plug, connect to replacement unit and put back in, someone told me you have to disconnect the battery, can’t see why, and wondering if anyone can give me their view.

To me just like replacing a bulb. Thank you.

It could be that it is not unless the car is fully shut down then there is still communication between the unit & it's ECU and it could upset the comms/ECU.

Don't know that for a fact, but unless there is a valid reason for not disconnecting the battery, just do it anyway, obviously ensuring you have any relevant stereo codes etc in the unlikely event that yours uses one.

Thanks for that, food for thought.
