(New, cheap) belt tensioner wobble?

My 2010 mini has a noisy belt tensioner, it rattles until it engages the water pump which is irritating.

So... saw one going cheap on Amazon with next day delivery. Day off tomorrow and thought suns out, why not.

Its just arrived and theres no wobble or rattle from the wheel on the arm but the plastic bit that extends to engage does wobble a bit and makes a noise.

Is this expected?

Given it will take half a day to do it I really dont want to find what I put in is as bad a whats in there already.

It does but its worn, the pump was replaced and the old wheel put back, thats on the todo list as well.

Well, new bit was missing the electronics bit so put the old one back after dismantling and cleaning. Seems to be less rattly now so prob fixed for the minute.

Never buy cheap with this kind of part is my only advice.
