Getting a Non-starting Car to a Garage

With apologies for asking such a basic question - I might need my non-starting modern(ish) car trailered to a garage about 5 miles from my home to be fixed. I'm not after recommendations; but what "type" of business do I need to look up on-line to use for this task? Cheers.

Normal car recovery. I use a local guy. Charges 70 cash for up to about 10 miles.

This. All my local Indy garages have either a trailer or a transporter for exactly this.

Failing that, got a mate with a car trailer?

No mates with the required stuff and it's a main dealer.

But I'll look up local car recovery businesses; I had wondered if it was something separate from that.

Are you in the AA etc with home start and recovery?

If so was it working before you got your cover?

If so check the Ts & Cs, you MAY be able to get them to come out & if they can't get it started they should take the car to a "garage of your choice".

Just to add not 100% certain, but the Ts & Cs will tell you.

You're looking for a local car transport business. They're quite common and usually in my experience not very expensive as long as you stay within their normal service area. If it's going to a garage, the garage will probably either collect it themselves (for a small fee) or recommend a transport service.

Cheers. On the AA comment above yours, when the car broke down it was "fixed" by a car breakdown company but they reported that it had a fault with a sensor that needs to be replaced. That meant I could get it home, but under the T&Cs I cant call them again for the same issue within 28 days. I suppose I could wait 28 days but I dont really want to do that.

Yeah, the simple fact that they recovered it & it hasn't been fixed rules it out under any Ts & Cs for breakdown/recovery, I didn't know that so was worth asking.
