Stub axles

[Purosangue]

Helping a Friend replace the drive shaft and stub axle on a VW T6 transporter 2.0 2016 Right hand side.

ordered the part for the gearbox which is CXHA


Just had parts delivered , but have a query on the bolt supplied







When the bolt is inserted its at least 5mm short of the end of the stub and no thread to allow it to screw into the gearbox . ? guessing you need at least 5mm of thread inside the gearbox ?

I know there is a spring but the inner stub length is fixed ,

Does this look right or am i going mad

obviously haven't disassembled yet ...I understand these are stretch bolts so a new one is required , dont want to start then realise its too short

Pretty sure it should be longer as its useless that length. JR are not that great with some stuff.
