Rear number plate positioning

Redoing the lights on the back of my merc 814 race transporter

So it's less of a faff to move things for the tail lift.

I've sorted the lights to spec, just need to re mount the number plate.

Does it need to be in a specific position or can mount it
On the top of the rear of the box.

I've already got 5 red market lights there so could replace the
Middle one with the plate and number plate light.

if memory serves me right , the rear light can fit above everything just make sure it is lit ? often see it on removal vans on the top of box

i think the only requirement is it be above 12 inches from floor or something like that

As long as the plate can be easily read from a distance of 20 metres it can be fitted anywhere on the rear of the vehicle, as for the illumination, no white light must be visible from the lamp
