If nobody can see you doing it then it is usually safe to do so because it usually means there is no other road user nearby

I remember when I worked as a sales rep, I used to make Pot Mash (mm sausage and tom flavour) and Pot Noodles whilst driving on the motorway. Not proud of it now but seemed fine at the time apart from the danger of pouring boiling water between my legs.
