Sadly none of the local companies would let me take the van over to Europe.

The only true way to find a vehicle payload is to fill it with fuel and take it to a weighbridge to have it weighed with the driver in it
You can then take the weighbridge weight from the plated GVW to get its payload

Well yes, but most manufacturers give payloads for their mainstream models as a guide.
