Can anyone with experience of the Ducato Relay Sprinter Transit segment give me their views on the drivers position re off set pedals, steering wheel location and seat adjustability? I'm looking for a van to convert and need to be a bit careful about the driving position since my back is telling my I'm getting old and will object if I can't get a good driving position. The only van in this segment I have driven a bit is a Sprinter which wasn't bad as long as I was careful. Does anyone have experience of the others in this segment - I'm wary of Transits because of the wet belt thing, and not keen on Sprinters because of the cost for van and conversion and sloping sides. Any first hand experiences appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Can only really help on the Sprinter. Which having driven them daily for the last 20 years or so I can unequivocally say are spot on. I can do an eight hour stint in mine with no issues at all. There is a lot of adjustability in a Sprinter seat, so I would be surprised if you couldn’t find a good position. I’ve got some experience with the current gen Transit which I find OK but not as sweet as a Sprinter.

I have a Transit Custom campervan which is pretty much the same cabin architecture as a full sized Transit. We do 1,000 miles across Europe and back several times a year with no problems. My wife and I both have no problems finding a comfortable setup.

I have heard the Ducato seats are not as comfortable.

Iveco, do 10 or more hours in mine at times, nearly a 1000 miles one day.

Get the fantastic auto though,

Less cab space than a Sprinter but not as tinny, more car like than truck.

SWB vans are Gold dust apparently.
