Hi
Amy recommendations for air bed please . Am looking for occasional use in house when we r have guests. Doesn't need to be battery operated but needs to be comfortable.. Looking for single one. Previously I have relied on amazon reviews but nowadays there are so many promoted reviews its quite difficult to find truthful reviews.

My suggestion: don't get an airbed.

Get a decent folding camp bed instead. I'd recommend ::this one::

I was going to say they're all cr*p having had both cheap and expensive ones they all seem to somehow manage to deflate in the night, split on the seams or just get punctured somehow or other. Currently got a Camping Gaz one that's two singles that can be joined together to make a double, it's okay, managed to spend a week on it whilst camping in Pembrokeshire a few weeks back but I was still really glad to get back to my regular bed. Avoid the regular doubles unless your having it all to yourself, seems like a romantic idea but instead you'll feel every movement of your partner throughout the night and roll together in the middle. I hoping to be corrected on this though so I can find the ultimate camp sleep!

I was looking at the folding bed someone linked on the Decathlon website and this caught my eye: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/air-inflatable-camp-be... Intersting idea but no clue as to what it would be like in reality?

The other problem I have is that I have is that when we go away both the car and roof box are full to bursting so I can't have anything more bulky. In the days before wife/kids I used to get a great nights sleep on a Thermarest self inflating mattress and a mummy bag but I'm not sure if that would be comfortable now or not. In those days I used to climb into bed in a semi conscious state after a few to many whiskys so I think that probably helped the sleep alot.

Probably going to get a caravan next year anyway!

I know the ones you mean, and I've used them for camping too. A decent, folding camp bed is better IMO - it won't deflate overnight, you don't need power to pump it up and they take up no more room when collapsed.

We've been using the same inflatable, flock covered double airbed for years.

Very comfy with a sheet and duvet over us. No problems. All pumped up with a Puritan Bennett 318 CPAP device to 40cmH20 to support our combined weight of 30stone and activities other than sleeping.

We have a similar inflatable sofa too..

I've been using Aerobed airbeds for a few years now and rate them very highly.

After getting pissed off at buying new airbeds regularly, we bought a Vango Comfort 10 double self-inflating mattress. It's brilliant - much more comfy than an airbed, and a lot less hassle.

The only downside is the bulk of the thing when rolled up.

I bought the double version of this and have recently spent 4 nights on it. I can confirm it was really comfortable, no backache or stiff neck.
Got go outdoors to price match a competitor, and got it for just over £70
