Good evening campers. I've got a 7m long trailer weighing 1,250 unladen and I'm looking at getting an electric mover for it.

Have any of you got these and able to steer me in the right direction with them?

Thanks!

I fit them to caravans for a living, what would you like to know?

That's handy.

I've been reading up on them and it's hard to tell which are the decent brands and which are the lower quality ones. I'm also not sure how many wheels would need to be driven for it to work okay with my trailer. I certainly would like one with electric activation of the friction wheel for ease of use. I won't be using it on gradients as it's mainly for use getting it in storage at a flat farm.

I tend to recommend Reich movers as they are pretty bullet proof and the warranty is good. Will you be moving the trailer with it when laden or only when empty?

How many axles does the trailer have?

I have a Riech. Works well and seem reliable although I hardly use it to be fair.

It's a twin axle trailer. In the most part it will be unladen, if it IS laden the car is 1,000kg. I'll start reading up more on the Reichs, thanks. Also thanks to Brads67.

Ok for twin axles the Reich options are all Awd and much better priced than other big name brands. Speak to the guys at Reich uk they really do know their stuff and will advise if you need any extra fitting kit for your application.

Have you thought about the power side of things, you’ll want a 100ah leisure battery to power it and the control units will want mounting somewhere dry too.

Thank you, I'll have a chat with them.

I've been thinking about the power as I've already got a small battery in the trailer for the winch, but I don't think it'll be powerful enough as it's a 55ah. There's plenty of dead space at the front of the trailer for other things to be mounted if required so that shouldn't be a problem.

Tangent -

Tight s-bend in a the drive way means moving the car with a Horsebox on the tow ball is unlikely. Oh and gravel.
Any recommendations for an off-road dolly to shift a twin axle 1,250kg trailer?
