Awning Footprint Question
Discussion
We have been using our new-to-us VW T5 campervan since the campsites have reopened and have loved it. Our only question is how do people set up their awning footprint? We normally attach the awning to the van first then peg it out, but you cannot do this with the footprint as well. Is there any wisdom from the PH campervan fraternity that would help us with this conundrum?
There will be many more things if your new to this!
We put the awning up first quite close to the van basically where you think it should go then attach it to the van.
We did this with our first van a VW T4 A.S. Trident (high top) with an old canvas frame awning with a figure of 8 rail.
On our T5 standard van no high top or pop top at all we do the same and throw the awning straps over the top (air blown awning), its quite forgiving as the awning conection part allows for about 2ft of adjustment.
If its to far away from the van move the van after, in 20 yrs I may have moved the vans maybe 3 or 4 times or hardly, can't remember.
