Hello
We have a decent tent was about £500 about 10 years ago had little use
Noticed some of the seam tape is coming off
Anyone got any experience reparing:
I've seen products like these & was wondering.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kleiber-Adhesive-Waterpro...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/TUFF-Tape-Self-Adhesive-R...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mcnett-Seam-Grip/dp/B002F...

Also read you can mix silicon 50:50 white spirit & paint it on?!

FWIW I used those guys to repair a rip in my tent.... and on it's first outing it leaked at the (new) seam. They didn't do a particularly good job of keeping the tape flat, so rain comes in through the stitching and leaks through wrinkles on the tape.

I actually opened this thread to see if anyone could recommend a seam tape so I can take off the poorly applied tape and do a better job myself...

I've done that to make grip pads on my thermo mat, I don't see why it wouldn't work although if might be worth trying some out somewhere unobtrusive, let it dry, and give it a good flexing to see if it stays attached. I've got an old tent somewhere, I'm tempted to give it a go now smile

I took it to a tent repair shop and he said it wasn’t repairable as the backing had come off where the tape sticks so we chucked it, felt a bit sad but cest la vie.

I used this stuff to repair my boat cover, very decent and its wider than a lot of the tent repair tapes you see (48mm vs 20mm typically)

I got it free (family member works for Tesa) but I would def buy it in future

If you can get back to a reasonably clean surface this stuff is excellent, use a piece of greaseproof paper to iron it on. I found you need to experiment with the heat to get the best adhesion.
