Just a note to any newbies (or indeed forgetful oldies biggrin): it is good practice to drain down the water in your boiler and water tanks in your MoHo at this time of year, to guard against frost damage. A new Truma boiler is a very expensive purchase.

I did ours on Saturday as temps are looking to approach zero soon.

We've done the Paloma on the narrowboat. Short flu, very exposed, and as you say, not cheap!

Wouldn't you do it after every trip?
Wouldn't want to leave water sat in it for a a few weeks.

We do it after every trip but as i understand it, there can still be a fair bit of water in the pipes so still run the risk of pipes freezing and cracking/bursting

Pipes are at.kuch greater risk then the tank I expect.

The narrowboat tank is reasonably well protected, inside the boat, in a plywood box, with an inch of polystyrene packing.

We never drain it even over winter, but we drain the pump and pipes.
