Millau Viaduct site recommendations please
Discussion
We are travelling down to the south of France and this year we have decided to go down via the Millau Viaduct. Stopping near Paris night one so we can go to the palace of Versailles. So we will head south after that and need to find somewhere about an hour north of the Millau Viaduct to stay for one night. I have a place through the Caravan Club, but it is 40 mins drive from A75 and 422 miles from the Paris site. A bit far for the kids in the back of the car.
But there seems to be a gap along the A75 with no real caravan sites - So have any one been, stayed or can recommend one please??
Thanks

Just to state the obvious - there's not an awful lot to see if you simply drive cross the viaduct, there is just a little sight seeing area on the South side. I would build in some time to drive down into the town underneath or even into the hills for better views.
We always go down through the town and call at the big supermarket for a rest break and a spot of lunch. Further on before you head up the otherside there is a good kids play park just by the river. And like you say there are much better views too.
We stayed here on the way up from St Tropez heading to Le Mans last year .

thanks - we have found a site about an hour north of the viaduct. But I am not sure towing a van we will go down into the village, but will try and stop at the viewing area and have a look there.
Before the viaduct everything had to go through the town. Your caravan will be fine. Have a look a Eurocamp sites. Most have space for self camping or you can use Eurocamp to find the site and book direct.
