We are going to Cornwall, I need to stop in Bristol on route for a work meeting.

Any ideas where I can park the car with the caravan on the back!

My initial reaction is Gordano Services. 2hrs free, then £15 for 2-24hrs.

Otherwise have a look here? https://www.bristol.gov.uk/residents/parking/where...

There is a Park and Ride but it doesn't say anything about whether caravans are allowed or not! They might suspect you are part of the driveway resurfacing community and have a 'no' policy because of that.

Football or rugby ground that has some parking? Google maps it first though to check for height barriers! Maybe a campsite in the local area?

Gordano services and then a taxi into the city centre is probably best.

Or a more convoluted option is to park at cribbs causeway. Taxi to Bristol Parkway train station and train into the city centre.

I'd ensure the caravan is both locked to the car with a hitchlock and has decent (eg alko type) wheellocks fitted before you leave it at a motorway services or chances are you'll be coming back to just the car. I would never leave ours unattended at a services, it only takes them a minute to unhitch and hitch it to another car.

Which part of Bristol? Clifton Downs has 5 hour parking zones, and fairly good transport into the centre a short walk away.

It's fairly busy during the day too, with dog walkers, joggers etc.

Thanks everyone, wife has booked us in to a campsite somewhere where we can arrive early.

As it happens I need to be on the edge of the Downs but apparently they have just kicked some nomadic caravan dwellers off there so wife was reluctant to park there.

Baltic Wharf caravan club site. We' just came back from three really nice days there. There's a ferry service along the river and a really good bus servcie into town too. Highly recommended
