At some point in the near future I'm going to need to weigh my caravan after some modifications (storage mainly, but also a few beefed up fixtures) so that I know how much I can pack it with safely but I'm struggling to find any information on weighbridges I can use to do so. I've found a few that are part of a recycling place and quarries but none seem to offer a public service. Does anyone know of one in the South Wales area that does this? Last time I needed one was 20+ years ago and there were council-run ones you could use for free but they all seem to have now gone. Happy to pay a small fee for using one, either as a straight charge or for the office Tea Fund. I won't need it for a little while but just planning ahead and it's drawing a blank.

I tried my postcode in that and it directs me to Cardiff and they don't have any linked, didn't think to try a Swansea postcode! Will have to play with different areas I think and see what pops out local. Although Swansea isn't exactly a long way away.

Depending where you are, give Fred Lloyds in Pontypool a ring. He'll probably help you out.

Appreciate it's not Wales, but the Police in West Sussex said they had a mobile weighing system that they could bring to our house and weigh our motorhome if we wanted, maybe your local force does.

Builders merchants often have weigh bridges, it makes charging for a tipper load of aggregate etc. a lot easier.

Scrap yards/recycling centres ditto.

I weighed a motor home at a grain storage yard that had it's own weigh bridge. I wasn't charged because I only wanted a verbal figure not a printout, and the weighbridge operator was as interested in the result as me.

Sorry about the late reply but just ring up your local council. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

There is one at Avonmouth, no charge if you don’t want a printout.
