Decent Time Travel Books? Recommendations

Going on holiday in a couple of weeks and for once am planning ahead, getting something to read in advance rather than relying on what's in the airport W H Smith.

Looking for some decent time travel stories, paradoxes, intelligent, different. A good read essentially that'll get me thinking.

So any good recommendations?

I got a time travel anthology from the library last year : it was fun reading different authors' take on the theme.
Unfortunately I've forgotten the title - sorry.

Ah, see I got a little way into that book and at the point where he wanders into the back of the diner and gets transported I stopped reading. It just came across as a totally ludicrous situation that didn't even seem vaguely plausible within the universe created in the book. John Carter of Mars does exactly the same thing to get him actually on to Mars.
