I am off on holiday for two weeks soon. With a young child I haven't read much in a long time, but now she is a bit older I hope I can this time round. I normally used to take a mix of factual books, war/history stuff, the odd biography and some easy reading Clive Cussler and Jack Reacher type stuff.

Does anyone have an recommendations based on any of the three options above as I have no idea what or who to look for!

Thank you.

I must have read Mr Nice (Howard Marks' autobiography) a dozen times on holidays over the years.

Matthew Reilly is great for a holiday. Rips along at a great pace. Try Ice Station to start with. Anything by David Baldacci. Harlan Coben for some twists and turns, and if you want some crime stuff maybe try Michael Connelly.

Where are you going? I always try to make my holiday reading relevant to the location.

Strange isn’t it. Love the TV adaptations but somehow couldn’t get on with the books.

It’s usually the opposite isn’t it confused

Opposite for me, signed up for Apple TV just to watch the series, never did get past the second episode.
