Back at the beginning of the year I had a S/S exhaust system made for the Vitara by BlueFlame (www.blueflameperformance.com).
Prior to me taking it to them, they spent ages on the phone answer all my queries and worries.
I took it to them on a Saturday morning and they made and fitted the whole thing in 3 hours, I was involved at every stage, the guy who was working on the exhaust advised me of the style, size and loudness so I wouldn't be too much of a "LaxPowerer"
The whole thing cost me £250, this I thought was reasonable considering that the local Suzuki dealer was trying to charge me £275 minus VAT and Labour.
Anyways, last week the Vitara went in for its service and MOT and they came back and said a bracket needed welding on the exhaust - a 10 minute job at most.
Just under an hour later and they complete the welding, (Labour was £50+VAT), that’s on top of the £254 for the service and £40 for the MOT.
As I was driving it round I noticed there was a horrible vibration coming from the floor of the Vitara and the exhaust was making a horrendous whining noise, like it was catching on something underneath.
I called BlueFlame and explained as best I could the noise etc, "no problem just run it in one night and we will take a look" they said.
Well tonight I took it in. By 16:15 it was up on the ramps, 5 minutes later the exhaust system was on the floor being looked at.
The exhaust at one end was coated in what I can only describe as Miliput. Blueflame guy hacked it off and discovered the most horrific welding under there, the welding was about 1.5 inches deep and had the consistency of moon rock, to make matters worse the crack that was there hadn't actually been welded, so god only knows why they welded the bit that wasn't split.
BlueFlame guy cleaned the rest of the coating off, got rid of the bad welding, re-welded it perfectly and refitted the exhaust in 30 minutes.
If the dealers hadn't fitted the exhaust back on wrong (that’s what was causing the vibration) I would never have know about the problem welding.
BlueFlame took digital photos for me so I can have a quite word at the dealers and politely request they refund me some money. They also took a few pictures to put on their Custom Exhaust Page on their website. And all of this was FOC.
So...big thanks to BlueFlame, I can't recommend them highly enough, so if you want a S/S exhaust for your bike or car - get down to BlueFlame.

my custom made exhaust was £250 incl vat and fitting.
give them a call - they will quote over the phone.
I cant recommend them highly enough, all exhauts come with a lifetime guarentee and should you have a problem they will fix it for you - even if the cause of the fault was nothing to do with them.
They are fantastic, one of the guys who works there built Big Dub, the twin engined VR6 golf that goes to Santa Pod etc.
