I have got about 15K to play with but want one of each……… what to do.....
Can not make my mind up between Griff 500, Cerbera or Chimaera, love em all.
I am gonna be using it every day to commute about 10 miles and just want to have fun on the way plus weekends.
Sadly will be parked on the road facing the elements on it’s own . Just had insurance quote on Griff 500 at £780.00 PA, ouch….. but I am only a young un at 27.
What advise you guys and girls got? Which should I get, what is gonna give me the most fun? Not too bothered about a boot, got no golf clubs or kids so, not needed. Which is more likly to keep on running everyday?

Griffith. You don't want to be doing only short trips, but if you have to, you CERTAINLY don't want to be racking up the wear on an AJP engine! The Rover V8 will always be cheaper to repair, and the Griff is rarer than the Chimaera.
How about a runabout for a couple of £K, then you could have a Chim for say £12K, or a late V8S.. or a Big Bad Wedge if that grabs you...
Who says you HAVE to spend 15 big ones to have fun?

Last time I looked you be lucky to get a Cerb for under £20k.
For a Griff you are towards the bottom end of the market.
For a Chim you've got a decent budget and lots to choose from.
I'm with wed1e, but you could just get a Chim. Just make sure that it get regular long trips (perhaps take a long route home twice a week and a good run at the weekend).

I paid 25,000 for my cerb, parked on road cheapest insurance i got is £1170.00 fullycomp and protected. Im 30 (still a young un i hope)
You won't like this answer, but for a daily 10-mile commute and then leaving it in all weathers, I wouldn't bother with any of them. Where's the fun in it? And I speak as someone on his third TVR. They are no fun in rain, in traffic, in supermarket car parks, miultistories etc - it's just not what they were built for. With £15K I'd go to the auction and get a Mondeo etc for £2K, and an early Griff or V8S for the weekends. Then you can enjoy it properly!

£780 is dirt cheap, I never got mine under £900.
Don't run it daily, it'll not be doing you any favours. Buy a £1k fun runaround that you won't care about. I commuted in mine and paid for it in scrapes, worn batteries and other strife.
Buy the car that most appeals to you. You can get a £15k Cerbie, but the running costs are double a RV8-engined car (I'm told, on average). Plus at that price point you'll probably need a few thousand spare 'just-in-case', because something will need attention before long.
I sold my immaculate Griff for £14k this spring. Well, agreed the sale anyway! (span it on my last drive out, to meet a bunch of PH-ers for a Sunday run

Check the Chimaera forum for their tales of woe when selling - stunning cars are up for £11k - £13k because the market is saturated. It's a buyers market.
I don't know how much research you've done, but I would recommend having a professional give the once-over to any car you want to put money on. Checking the PH classifieds would be a fine start if you are ready to buy now.

Sad but true. Perhaps you could spread your money and buy two cars. Say a Carina E and a Seven. You know you are alive when you dive a Seven, every bodily sense is intensified. Then the Carina is car as domestic appliance, the complete opposite of the Seven yet togethet they deliver everything. btw Carina = £2K max, good Sevens start at abour £8K.
