Would have been nice to see the speedo when driving the car
Neunteufel, He is probably doing around 150MPH on the streights. IIRC the orgonal post. Tyres are squeeling at one point so he deffinately isnt hanging around.
I have made videos of me on the bike and it dosnt look like I am going fast on the video even though it was a max speed run(love those german autobahns)
Thanks Flemke. That video was excellent. Only chance most of us will get to see the inside of a Mc F1. Sounds fantastic.
With respect to the times of laps from which the video was made:
One could take the durations from the original video of two complete laps. On the day that the video was done, however, there were two areas of major roadworks, as well as some traffic that got in the way at the wrong times. The actual lap times are therefore meaningless.
If you want an idea of the potential of the car, as described on PH recently, a man who knows a lot more than I ever will do thinks that 7:45-50 (on appropriate road tyres) is about right.
If you want an idea of the incompetence of the driver, when I'm trying my hardest my times in a "reference" car appear to be about 6% slower than von Saurma's time in "Sport Auto".
As mentioned above and cited by others, in this case I was just experimenting with recent suspension changes and was not trying even at my own mediocre level to push things. For example, 90% of the shifts were short, and as I recall I did not bother with second and fifth gears.
If the laps had been clear sailing, but nonetheless done at the medium pace shown in the clips, my guess is that the laps would have been around nine minutes.

why has Flemke subtly changed username?

Great video Flemke
I tend to find that any F1 vid with sound is incredible
The end of the last part with the view of the tacho is particulary revealing, seeing just how quickly the revs die away when you haven't got a flywheel. I bet you've got to be pretty quick with your shifts!
Thanks very much for sharing.

Loved all three of the clips
, oh that sound track does it for me every time. Its been said before but I'll say it again it is the ultimate road car and nothing compares IMHO.
Quiet impressed by the camera work as it is obviously a hand held camdcorder in the passenger seat, amazed its so steady.
As for not trying too hard, re clip 2, well if squealing a macca's tyres is not trying I'd hate to see what its like when its really trying
.
