Can anyone identify the car on the BBCs advert for Radio 1 that they've been showing for the last few days? The ad is in black and white and the car is only featured for a second driving into a warehouse. I wondered if it was an AC428 drophead but can't find any pictures to confirm.

That will be the Frua bodied one with the slightly larger engine than the Cobra 427. Nice motor, but didnt sell in decent numbers and now pretty rare. Prices are pretty good too, as all of the buyers go for the Cobra instead - racing heritage. Mind you, even in low tune form they are cracking performance and can pull a train along with all of that torque....

Ground clearance looks crap though....

I'll get me anorak.

Behind it is a Ferrari 330GTC and what looks like an Alpine A110.

Podie,
I can't view the picture. (I'm on a workstation) Is there a website?

Thanks.

I met a guy who took off the body and shortened the chassis to make a Cobra, be couldn't understand why I thought he was a prat.

Some of the last 427 Cobras actually had the somewhat softer 428 engine.

Anybody know who else sold a car with the 428 body design?

Proud to be an Anorak.

PS If offered the chance to drive a 428 jump at it.

Haven't seen the ad at all but the one in the Radio 4 ad is without doubt a Massey Ferguson.
