I was wondering if anyone knew the following. Who should I speak to about a chip for the Volvo V50 Diesal, preferably in a removable box so udetectable come service etc....

And does anyone have an update on any power improvements for the 111r other than a new induction box...I'm thinking turbo...or if anyone is going to develope it? need a car.

Now best do some more work, I've been in since 6.20am just watched a fantastic dawn.

JBS are in Chesterfield, mainly VW/Audi group vehicles, but I have heard great things about them, and the REVO range of chip upgrades may well cover Volvo.

Probably worth speaking to PPC by BSR. They do upgrades that you can add/remove at will.

These guys sell them, but currently not for the Diesel, however I'm sure they would put you in touch with BSR to find out if they do one.

Superchips not listing the S50/V50 yet but it would be worth having a word with them. Re the Elise, was there not a news story on here about turbos for the Toyota engine last week? If you want more power sell the Elise and buy a VX220 Turbo, which is what you should have done in the first place...

If you are feeling really brave, you can buy the software and write your own.

But it didn't have the air con option or face vents which is the reason we didn't go for the VX.

By the time you've fitted the turbo to the Elise you'll have paid a very high price for air con and a couple of vents...

Handling is not as good on the VX Turbo, I drove both back to back, also the brakes are terrible as the ABS cuts in way to early and is a very poor unit. The rest of the car is great. The engine is better than the 111r though.

can AMD (who do the VX tuning) do anything with the Elise engine?

they've done some special things with a wide variety of engines, including a 405 bhp BMW mini. they used to be predominantly Audi/VW tuners, but do just about anything now. they could probs chip your volvo too- discount for both maybe?????

So, what does it matter? if we prefer the Elise to the VX it will still be worth it.

James,

This should do the trick for the Volvo
www.tunit.co.uk/_vehicle_search2.php

As for the Elise, wasn't there a talk of a forced induction system being developed?

You could also have a chat with people on Jap/Celica forums about tuning the VVT-Li. No doubt theres a few of them tuned up.

Are you finding it not quick enough?
That concerns me a bit. (ref my recent thread in the Elise forum).

Nothing is ever quick enough for James

It is plenty quick and on a twisty track it will leave alot of the exotica if you know how to drive. I just need that 300bhp/tonne feeling back......

And Lisa is right it'll never be fast enough. When I had the T350 that wasn't fast enough either

I know about Elises and the twistys as have been out for drives with Cuzza and was very impresed with what a standard Elise can be made to do.
I was just concerned that you already sought the power increase as I knew your car history. Seems it wouldn't matter what it was or how fast it was, you'd always want more. (A typical petrolhead trait!)

Perhaps slow down the Landrover and that will always make the other car seem quicker!

So its full circle back to the Rover V8 then!

Good article here on the 111R against the VXT.
Just from this article Id rather have the 111R

On the VXT V Elise argument.

I concur with James, the 111R is the better drive.

However, its only the 111R that is, the VXT is MUCH better than the 111S which is a fairer comparison on a price basis.

Have a look at www.fensport.com, and see if you can find some other toyota/jap tuners. They should be able to come up with something. The official TRD turbo kit should be out next year (theres an article on here somewhere), but I'd be very surprised if HKS, Blitz, GReddy et al haven't already made at least one turbo kit between them. I'm pretty sure there's a TRD supercharger kit for that engine as well

I remember reading somewhere that the supercharger kit doesn't fit the Elise installation - will try and find where......
