Unbelievable (pt 2)

Following on from this thread..

I walk out of the house an hour ago setting off to work and notice that my car's looking a bit naked - there's a large gap where the front bodywork used to be. Some during the night has decided to literally rip off the front end of my car rather than go out and buy one!

I am so sick of this, I can't even describe it. Since moving in to my new house in November I've had:
- eggs thrown all over my car, including up the exhaust.
- Both umber plates ripped off the car
- Front M3 bodywork ripped off

and my girlfriend's fiesta has had:
- A hit and run against the side of her car leaving a big dent
- The passenger side window smashed
- An old fool drive into her, demolishing the front end.

This is supposed to be a good area. I haven't worked out what I'm going to do yet but it isn't going to carry on the way it has been.


P.S. If by any chance the piece of shit who did this is reading, I'm in number 38 of the road you stole it from. Be a man and pay me a visit. I dare you!!

I'm afraid you have to think about a CCTv system.

Its not difficult to do yourself. I have a system that links to a PC, and the PC runs all the time. (only an old thing). It attaches to a CCTV camera on the front gable of the house. Quite easy to do.

During the day it just sits there waiting for movement, and during the night it does the same only this time in infra red. Camera cost £100, PC nothing, software about £200.

If a scrote ventures into the perimeter you set on the screen day or night for a certain length of time the computer lets out an alarm signal from its speaker.

You get out of bed and go out there with a cricket bat.

Theres no point in getting a perimeter alarm for the car, because if it goes off the scrotes will be away well before it even wakes you up, and this forms a good game for th scrotes in itself.

There is no point even contacting the police.

Not an option I'm afraid as the car is parked on the road outside the house (no driveway/garage) and where exactly it is left overnight depends on where the neighbours have left spaces

Totally sickening to hear this. Do these people get some kind of sick pleasure out of ruining other peoples' lives?

I think I'd seriously consider moving to a house with a private drive/garage (I'm assuming you're cars were parked on the street?).

Would love to move, but this is our first house which we bought only a few months ago and cost way more than we can afford now. I'd need to double my income before I can even consider it.

know the feeling! Still saving for a deposite for my first house at the moment.

Do any of the other cars on the street get attacked? If not, then I'd have to question why they keep picking on your cars?

A possible solution might be to find a nearby lockup and hire a garage from the council. A mate of mine does this for his bike, think the rates were pretty reasonable.

My cousin was suffering from a similar problem some years ago.

He dealt with it by spending a few nights in his car: sleeping on the back seat.

Then it happened he got out (he's six, four) and beat the crap out of the pair who were responsible...and I mean thoroughly.

Not very PC. But it worked. Never happened again.

The scrotes normally wear baseball caps and hoodies to hide their faces and it works well - Very rare you can recognise people from cctv The best evidence is forensics... If they have left fingerprints, clothes fibres or DNA at the scene and they are matched to known scrotes then the police can just go straight to them and arrest them...

Yep, indeed, and in my neck of the woods the police wouldn't bother anyway. But if you look back at my post I was suggesting the silent (to the scotes) alarm and the cricket bat option rather than the six months down the line identity parade.

Parked it round my parents on their driveway, but knowing my old man he's probably had his mitts all over it. I'll go round the station in a bit and give them the sob story.

Was it actually ouside the front of your own house when it happened :Confused:. Only say that as you stated you have to park where you can, even in front of neighbours houses, perhaps its a pissed off neighbour who doesn't like a flash car outside his house . There is fair chance if you knock and introduce yourself on the pretext of car crime in the road and have they suffered you may even be able to detect hostility, 2+2 = possible culprit.
All IMHO etc, but I'd certainly report it to the local police station, the least they will do is ensure the night patrols include your road.

Cops in Cardiff are pretty efficient. They even knew my old festa had been stolen before I did.

Mind you a car on fire at 4 in the morning isn't easy to miss...

What area of Cardif was this?

I doubt it was the neighbours - they're mostly older families or retired couples. One or two of them have had minor incidents of vandalism too. I'm guessing this was nicked not out of spite but for a similar car.

Dastardly, im absolutely fakin miles away, but i will keep my eyes open! Black M3 stuff down this way is rare as fak, so if i spot anything with m3 farings, i'll have a look for ya.

I had my BMW vandalised outside the house I used to live in and it was street parked too and the little scrotes just stood by the car with the alarm going off after they pulled the wipers arms off and damaged the wiper motor and then set about the car denting it with the wiper arm. There were too many to sought out on my own and the police weren't that bothered when I phoned them. I went mad and threw clothes on and raced off in the car after them, I would have aimed the car at them had they not all ran off in all directions.

I got back home and the police had decided to turn up and set about me, accusing me of stealing the car. Uhhm yes and returning it to where I found it and locking it with a set of keys

They asked where I lived and I pointed behind them and said "just there" and they asked me to proove I lived there. I turned the remote control house alarm off plus I had the house keys which they took from me along with my car keys. They still didn't believe me and I had to tell them the exact location inside the house where my vehicle documents were and then had to go and get my documents from the house accompanied by them opening my house for me whilst they were calling out to an imaginary inhabitant. I really don't know what made me more angry!

Had the front spoiler of my first M3 nicked. Was told later that parts of the kit (E36) fit older Golf GTIs. Not sure if it was true.
