'My Cars' on profile
Discussion
I've just spent the past 45 minutes sorting through five years' worth of bills and paperwork for my Rover - something I'd been planning to do for a while, to take advantage of Ted's excellent cost summary features in the profile pages.
Blimey! I've spent £3k a year on the old nail in the last 5 years and 36k miles!
Even the Griff, which was a bigger money pit than I'd ever imagined possible 'only' set me back £5k a year!
What have I learned from this? By a sports car, drive it with abandon, and pay only 50% more per year than a galactic-mileage, poverty-spec rep-mobile!!!
WOOHOO!

sorry, still trying to process the thought that I've spunked £25K on motors over the last 5 years...

Hey! This is an important point! There's a fallacy that says buying a repmobile is a far cheaper option than a psychotic sports car. Spread the word!

how about this, bought an mgb V8 3.5 roadster in 2000 for £5k plus p/x. then spent £2k beefing up the suspension and brakes. then spent a further £9k on a j e developments 4.6 V8, front and rear mods to handle the power, quaiffe diff, plus loads of other goodies. and then sold the fecking thing for £7k and bought a chim instead. i,ve always known i was cuckoo but this act of stupidity has surprised even me. peter

Petros..I've got a ten pound note for sale. What say you give me £20 cash for it?

But you enjoyed it didn't you? You could've spent that money on a Ford Focus and you wouldn't have seen results.
I would've just spent all the money on an MG RV8, but you went out there and did it yourself - good for you!
