On the street where I live there are 2 un-taxed cars (aka rust buckets) belonging to the same person and both are being regularly used by his household.

Who should I report this to? As...

a) no tax probably = no insurance
b) the street is crowded enough without illegally parked cars
c) I and everyone else have to pay tax so WTF should he get away with it

oh and...

d) he dresses like a cross between a french peasant and a pikey (i.e. scuffy as fcuk and sports a beret)

A soapdodger near me left his Astra in our road for a few weeks, as the tax had ran out I told local plod that a car appeared to have been abandoned and they told the council who slapped some sort of notice on it and within a week it was gone. Don't mind paying my £1000 council tax when you get results like that....

Funky

Shop the er with extreme prejudice

a), b), c) & d) are all justifiable grounds for doing so.

I would do it on the beret alone let alone road tax evasion.

These people are scum and can't complain when they get chased out of town like common pygmies.......

Try this:-

www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/vehlicnc.htm#i8

Insurance would be the Police but I would leay won't do anything without proof - I don't think that guy has insurance as he has a crap car and no tax may not be enough

the council will have a system for reporting dumped cars. I can do that online with my council. That'll get rid of them.

You can also apply for a V5 for any car untaxed on the public road and then it'll be your car. Might not be good in your case, but it would be funny to ring the cops when he drove off in it and say he'd nicked your car...

Thanks guys, this form seems to what I need...
www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/cle301_4online.pdf

Though I have to put my name and address on it, only the address is witheld, he only lives 2 doors up so he'll know who served the witness statement on him. Could do without having to face the wrath of mad french-pikey-beret-wearing to$$er in the middle of the night. (Or then again it migth be fun )

Perhaps I should follow Bush and Bliar and launch a premptive strike and the mutha-fcuker

Fcuk him anyway. If he's stupid enough to risk driving without tax, and hence insurance, he desevres what he gets.

Imagine the misery he'd cause if he damaged someone elses property, or worse still, injured some poor sod on his next trip out to gather magic mushrooms.

Why not get a friend - the further away the better - to shop him?

EDIT: (Mondeoman beat me to that one!)

There was a dumped car near the village where I live (I suspect it was left by a so-called joy-rider). I reported it to the police. Next day..still there (police aware sticker on it now!). Called Plod again after a couple of days as the bonnet was now open and lights / wheels missing. They said the council was aware and would be dealing with it. Called local councillor at home after a few more days who inferred that nothing would be done, as if they took it away then they would be responsible and would have to put it in a secure area. After about a week or so, it was wrecked and as the door was hanging off and partially obstructing the road, I reported it to the police as a danger to road-users. That worked! Next day it was gone - probably to a scrap yard. Now if that was your car, wouldn't you have liked to have been notified asap before it got trashed???
The answer to these dumped cars may be to report them as a danger to other road users.

They are indeed a danger to others as the cars are not abandoned, but used daily by said scumbag

Rather than report his cars to the DVLA why not apply for a Demolition Order on his house? If given clearance you wont be able to do anything about it of course as its his house, but you just wait until he tries to sell it!

Matt.

If you do get the V5 don't forget to tax and insure it yourself or you will get done!

Sorted !

Got a mate to fill the forms in and on Saturday 28th 2 tow trucks arrived and removed the offending vehicles. They didn't even seem to attempt to contact the owner, just broke in, hitched them up and drove away.

Splendid.

Nice work!!
I'd just make sure that you keep your own mota out of the way for a few weeks now, if he's a true pikey-scum he'll be out "shopping" for a replacement!
