SLK V8 spotted at Thruxton

Whilst at Thruxton on the weekend we spotted a Merc SLK with "V8 Kompressor" badges.

I know that Brabus do a V8 SLK for a cool £110k (click here for more info), but I was under the impression that this was a Naturally Aspirated V8, so can't see why it had the "kompressor" badge.

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

I would have whipped the camera out and taken a photo only the owner was getting into the car.
(We were too cold, weary and tired from a day at the races to go over to talk to him before someone says "if he was getting into the car why didn't you ask him?")

could it have been the v6 amg kompressor ? SLK32

Possibly. However, the side badges did look more like "V8" than "V6" but I guess I could have been mistaken.

Dont know if they have sold many of the v8`s as you mentioned very very expensive

Probably the new SL55 AMG as featured by Clarkson in this weeks Sunday Times (he's chopped in his 355 for one apparently).

The side badges do indeed read "V8 Kompressor".

No, it was very definitely a SLK, not a SL.

I saw what must be one the first SL55 AMG's in the couytry @ Donninghton a weeks or so ago, dark blue, looked a little like the one Clarkson bought - as in his Times article.

SL55 engine in an SLK5.5 Supercharged V8?

I know that they do a 6.5V8 SLK but perhaps the supercharged 5.5 is now an option?

Rapid is the word we are looking for!!
