I'm sick of the same old tat being spouted about speed kills, tax on petrol, tax on everything, pensions being withdrawn etc.
I'm proposing a new political party - I don't know what to call it but here are my proposals
1, Road fund tax - only goes to support a major investment of our crippled road structure. I want a new "fast" lane added to our motorways where speed is restricted to a min of 70 with no max speed.
2, Reduce tax on all fuels - The little bit that is raised is to pay to increase driving standards.
3, No VAT
4, Schools should be supplied there own school bus for picking up/returning kids. Ideally, a British manufacturer making standard busses.
5, No cars should be parked on the road. Even outside your own home, get a garage or chuck some block paving on that secimen you call a "garden".
6, No tax on drink and fags - I don't drink or smoke so this is just to swing a few extra votes my way
7, Your NIC should do just that, support the NHS and give you a decent pension.
8, Stop sending money to the EEC and start gtting money off them like the spanish.
9, Work out just how much it does cost to police, support fire dept, library, bin emptying anything else the council provides, then divide it equally by the householders in that borough. Someone in a £500k house doesn't necessarliy go thru more rubbish than some1 in a £50k house.
10, While i'm on the topic of rubbish, recycle from the home, get rid of all these bloody bins appearing in carparks that kids set fire too. Have more incinerators with energy recovery and less landfill.
11, Scrap unemployed payouts. Give them rewards for actually getting off their backsides and go looking for a job.
12, Scap immigrant/assylum seekers handouts - that'll stop the b'stards clinging onto the sides of the eurostar.
13, Crime - make punishment match the level of the crime. Rape - cut off bollocks, theft - cut off hands, murder - cut off heads, but only in cases where there is undeniable evidence of being guilty.
14, Youth crime - Punish the parents. "I don't know how to discipline little Johnny the car thief", you'll soon start getting the knack if your going to get 40 lashes missus.
15, Ooh, I'm on a roll so don't pull me up for bad speeling or grammer, but i'll get back to motoring - Compulsory medicals/driving tests for all people over 60.
16, Get rid of all Gatso's from dual carraigeways and motorways, put them around schools and residential areas with a 20 mph limit. Increase speed limits elsewhere to 40mph and 70 on motorways/dual carriageways, execpt for the new extra fast lane/s mentioned in point 1.
17, Stop funding the bloody royal family - havn't they enough money?
18, No ban on blood sports. Keep the country folk running the country and the townies running the towns. Each to thier own IMO.
19, Give everyone equal payrises, not 3% for workers and 40% for the boss. Everyone fair - except Joe at work cos he's a fat lazy b'stard and doesn't deserve a pay rise.
20, And finally for now, let everyone retire at 55 so we can all enjoy at least a little bit of life before we die.
All I need now is for more likeminded people to to overcome this boring parliment and we shall rule the world - mwhahahahahaha

You forgot some other policies that you'll also need;
More taxes to pay for the cost of the electric fences to keep the asylum seekers and poor people off our land.
More taxes to pay for 24hr security patrols around the privileged few's residential areas.
Repeal all gun laws so we can protect ourselves against attack from those less fortunate than ourselves who try to fight back.
Hang on though, just a thought. If the motorway is deserted will everyone still drive down the fast lane?
If its busy and the fast lane grinds to a halt will you allow undertaking in the slow lanes?
I suppose it won't really matter since society as we know it will have fallen apart by then anyway. Never mind, you'll be able to drive your car fast so it won't matter so much.

What about considering proportional tax increases on fat-cat bosses - the larger the percentage difference between their pay-rise and that of their subordinates, the larger cut taxes take from the barstools. That'd soon learn em!! heh heh heh

Why not have traffic lights like they have in Europe? They stop working after a certain time at night and just flash instead to let you know you can proceed with caution, as they say. Much less frustrating.

NHS - take it out of politics - have a standing parliamentary committee, to hand over the dosh. Equal representation from political parties, and then lots of doctors, nurses etc., who actually understand how it works, and hopefully don't give a fig about political gain. The committee has the same compostion, year in , govt. out, and is a consensus making body.
Welfare state - a necessary evil, but needs tweaking to ensure no-one can sponge off the state ad infinitum.
Teenage pregnancy - educate the gormless youth that there's more to life than pushing a pram about. My personal feeling is that these semi-animals get pregnant, because a) they are too stupid to understand that pregnancy results from unprtected sex, and b) it is, for a lot of them, the only time in their lives, when their peers and family, will say "who's a clever girl then?", and cluck and fuss, and make them feel important. Sad, but true. So educate, give thenm opportunity, make them feel valuable.
State-funded education for all parents, on how to be a parent.
State run education on your rights within society, but also on your responsibilities toward society, and a clear indication of the punishments on hand for stepping over the line.
Legalise heroin, but only on the basis that it is sold by Govt. run supply houses, with clean needles, and an agreement to take part in on-site detoxification programmes. That'll get rid of 80% of petty crime, mugging, burglary, and car crime, overnight. It will also leave the police free to pursue more serious crime.
Get rid of Gatsos, modernise speed limits e.g. 120mph on motorways (and make the heavily-used m'ways 4 lanes each way, paid for directly by car related tax revenue). Clamp down on speeding in residential areas. i.e. zero tolerance - 30 means 30 - 35+ gets a hefty fine £500 or so. Dual carriageways in non-residential areas, 90mph,and other out of town primary routes - 80mph limits. Put the gatsos where they are needed.
A programme of road engineering to make roads safe - that will reduce death and injury - e.g. remove roadside hazards, non-slip surfaces etc.
Ban political correctness - fine £1000.
Any politician going on TV is wired up to a lie detector, and the trace shown at the bottom of the screen, on the little known pinocchinose scale of truth. Departure from the scale results in 5000volts through the genitals.

We are being attacked right now - you try walking down the road with a mobile in your hand, it won't be there for long. Don't quite agree with the American gun culture but you should have a right to protect yourself

Who sayys society will fall apart. As I see it, you contribute fairly to the community and everyone gets at least a decent standard of living. If you can't get a job then all assistance will be given to you to get a job, not just pay out money so you can pi55 it up against the wall down the club. I don't consider myself to be well off, but I don't think people should be penalised thru payin more income tax because they have taken the risk to start up a business or studied harder to get that better position.

Many agree with much of what you've said; the difficulty lies within the response to which you are responding.
I don't think the right of an individual to expect themselves or their property not to be victimized is at all poltical but - and please forgive me if I've misinterpreted this - there do appear clearly intelligent voices for whom the treatment of this societal ill is not something which in practice, we can or should be effectively protected from. Which is bizarre.
Let me clarify: if you know that an unemployed youth, with a background largely not too rosy, is nonetheless rifling through your possessions at home one evening and you're all tucked up in the Land of Nod, what is society to do? Specifically, what does it expect you to do?
Use reasonable force is the official response but it doesn't alter the travesty of the domestic transgression you're suffering, one which may have dire consequences for any and all associated.
It's one response to wish the betterment of ALL our countrymen, whatever their circumstances or deviations but what you, I and many others wish to have is simple security.
So your right to bear arms domestically is lambasted. Well ok, what's the immediate alternative?
And BTW, I'm afraid you're in quite the wrong country if you want a pat on the back for wealth creation...

There are plenty of poor British people too who have to use public transport or (god forbid) have to park their car on the street.
An attitude of I'm OK, sod everyone else is never the answer.

With the exception of flats, I can't think of any other dwelling that has no land around it. Terraced houses have back yards, houses gardens although come to think of it, didn't flats used to have blocks of garages/parking bays for the use of the tenants.
Picture the scene, a small but long residential street, cars parked nose to tail along the length. How much room is there between? Hardly enough for 1 car to pass, never mind an emergency vehicle.
Our roads are quickly becoming a giant car park instead of a route from A-B.
By making our road tax support new roads and better transport links, maybe more people will consider public transport. The Newcastle Metro is a fine example and a method of transport I use regularly when going into the centre of Newcastle. Shame more people don't use it and No, I don't live next to a station, its a 25 minute walk away.
Walking, thats the ticket, get some of these fat kids walking and lose some weight

You obviously haven't been to Coggeshall. Our house is the newest in the street (1890) and we are lucky enough to have off road parking and a garage. Roads and pavements are narrow and some back yards are just big enough to accommodate a dustbin. Most of our neighbours have to leave their cars in the road. Slows down the traffic which is good in a residential area.

It really annoys me that the government pays the ignorant to have children, and then expects us to support them and their vermin through our taxes.
Why is it every womans right to have children? With people living longer we're rapidly running out of space! What possible benefit is there to this country from letting stupid, lazy people breed? There are families like that who live near me, and although I say they're stupid, they're not - they know every benefit they're "entitled" too, and how to get through life by doing the bare minimum and reaping the biggest rewards, all provided by us, the tax payer. These are the sorts of people this government is producing!
I agree with tougher penalties for murderers and rapists, and even the criminally insane - what's the point of paying for them to spend the rest of their lives in prison? Free food and board for the rest of your life, and probably more rights than your hard working tax payer enjoys doesn't seem like much of a punishment.
