O/T (very) - Nectar points

What a load of
Firstly you have to spend £100 to get £2.50 back
so that's a REAL incentive...
Secondly, popped into my local BP garage to fill up with some jungle juice - only to get to the till and present said Nectar card to be told "we don't do points here" ..
- "but this is BP!" I responded... "no, this is a joint BP and Safeway's - we don't do points here" (sigh).
Card is now in the bin, I'll do my shopping at Tescos and collect Tiger tokens instead then. :humbug: (Ted, can we have a smiley for "humbug"..?
)

Well that's 2.5% and that seems a lot to me, considering what margins are in the retail industry.
At Sainsbury's the scheme is actually designed to give you 1% off, earn 2 points per pound, and 500 points = £2.50. Tesco's rates at slightly different but it also boils down to 1% off.
You didn't think these scheme were designed to help you save money, did you?
