Who's ya Rally daddy
Discussion
I only saw the "Highlights" of the Burns crash that they showed on the evening news, but boy was it a spectacular off! Glad to see everyone was OK, it amazes me that more rally spectators don't get hurt. As for Rally Daddies, I think Tony Pond, RIP deserves a mention. He managed to raise the status of some of Britains most unloved vehicles,i.e the TR7, SD1 Rover and the Vauxhall Chevette. He also did pretty well with the 6R4 Metro as I remember.

There is a nutter NZer who turns up each year for our Targa Tasmania in a V8 TR7 who drives the absolute wheels off the thing!!! He is a definite all balls dude and just watching the highlights you wonder how he has lived so long, a bloody great driver or one lucky barstd, I can't tell
Was it Ari who drove that Renault/Peugeot whatever flatout up Pikes Peak on a very famous
video
, I'm getting old and these are all blurry in my memory. Now whoever did that is definitely in the top 5 rally drivers !! W

Ah, that would be Mark Parsons - member of Club Lotus NZ.
It is rather unnerving being asked to sit back in the seat so he can see out the passenger window of the TR8 - 'cos that's the way the car is headed. Magic driver.
