I've finally cleared out my massive collection of assorted car magazines and thrown them all away. Do you guys also have a bad habit of buying a ridiculous number of these things?

I had them all over the place - under the bed, stacked up in cupboards and generally littered all round the place. I'm sure any girls visiting would think I need to get out more.

Now I have made up my mind and ordered my new car, I'm going to try and go cold turkey and not buy any more bloody car mags. If I can kick the habit I'll save a fortune too. Why is it so hard to walk past WHSmiths and not buy a stack of shiny new mags, even though you've already got a nice car and a subscription to Evo!

I reckon I know what it's like to give up smoking now. Am I a sad bastid, or just the same as you lot?

Do any of you guys find yourselves collecting a crazy number of things? I also seem to have a stupid amount of black t shirts, all the bloody same, bought every time I go clothes shopping with the girlie. Every time I go out looking for a pair of trousers or shoes for an occasion, I come back with another black t shirt! I must be on auto pilot half the time I'm awake.

My girlfriend is just as bad in her own way too. She has so many bloody hair brushes. Like how many do you need for one head eh?

I seem to have a clear out every couple of years, yet lo and behold I seem to amass hundreds more of the things. I'd hate to add up how much I've spent. Hundreds and hundreds of mags at around £3 a go. I could have bought something useful with all that money.

i got in to the habit of reading the reviews and motoring news off the net as in most cases you only buy the mag for one or two articals.

You can't read on-line reviews whilst sitting on the loo though.

Its no coincidence that my copies of AutoCar and EVO tend to live in the magazine rack of our bathroom, as that's when they get read on the whole.

(Too much information - sorry guys! )

Palm Pilot using Avantgo to down load the website of your choice, then retire to the loo.

I have the same problem, too many mags not got the heart to throw them out. The think is there are only one or two articles in each mag that I want to keep.

So the plan is to buy a cd writer for the home pc and scan the articles I want to keep on the flatbed scanner I already have and toss the magazines ().

Just a quick tip if you cant bear to part with your mags. The boxes that photocopy paper is delivered in are great for storing your mags. Doesnt work with EVO as there too big.

You lot just aren't sad enough, I once purchased approximately 3500 car magazines in one go. These more than filled a Volvo 960 Estate and left me with approximately 14 piles 5ft high in our hall. I didn't dare take them upstairs because of the potential floor loading.

I went through these magazines, kept the ones that I wanted and sold on some of the rare magazines and then sold the remaining magazines to another sad individual for the price that I paid from the initial pile.
