Good luck with getting a new job, but i have been looking for a job in the engineering industry for ages.

Alex Try UKAEA they have got jobs in dicot area if thats any use, i was just offered a job there, but i wanted a job at a different branch.

Ive got a BEng Hons (1st Class) in Aerospace engineering and a Masters in Aerospace engineering with Astronautics and i am finding it hard to get a job. I was made redundent last january from INSYS in Bedford.
try below

Alex

Try not to worry too much mate. This happened to me twice last year. Had to sell the Cerbera immediatley to pay the mortgage but managed to get sorted after a bit of contract work and I now have a better job than ever and a new Tamora. Things will pick mate, hope you can keep the car....

chin up.

Hard luck. It happened to me this time last year, so I know the feeling. don't worry too much, there are always people out there wanting qualified enthusiastic people, but it may take a while.

Most good jobs these days are found through networking, not ads or headhunters, so get out there, use all your contacts and your contacts' contacts, and you'll find something.

Write to people - asking their advice, not for a job - massage their egos.

Don't rush into selling the car. enjoy it now you have some time. I will make you smile if nothing else does at the moment

Best wishes

R

That's bad news, Alex!

As already said, go straight forward.

When I'm looking for a job for the semester holidays (OK, it's not the same, but it might work as well for you), I'll look, where I like to work and call the responsible person direct. Usually works immediately.

Don't waste your time with personnel departments.

cheers guys and thanks for the advice.
Steve I live in Maidenehad so didcot would not be the end of the world for me. I will look into it. At the moment i really want to keep the tvr since its just been serviced and I only renewed the insurance just lately. The saab will probably go though. Only brough it to see customers for work so no use for it now!
Chin most definitely up! thanks PH

"BEng Hons (1st Class) in Aerospace engineering and a Masters in Aerospace"

Kinda sums things up about our country at the moment when guys like this are left high and dry.
