Any lawyers in the house...?
Discussion
A colleague at work had his Elise damaged by some young scrotes trying to lever the badge off. Unfortunately they split the clamshell around the badge and it will cost £493 to repair. They were caught by a police officer with other badges in their posession, but since they are under age, the copper thinks that there is little that can be done.
I have suggested thet he raise a small claims action against the parents...is this possible (he lives in Scotland, so there may be a slight difference compared to English law).

Get a free 1/2 hour with a solicitor. Small Claims Court in England is £3000 max claim I recall. Scotland - dunno. Keep a note of all expenses though - be meticulous - it will help if it comes to the crunch. Good luck.
Alternative is to meet some people in the pub who may serve an action on the scrotes.

Small claims limits have gone up it now costs £80 (these costs are payable) and has a £5k ceiling. However it depends on the age of the kids if under 10 there is sod all you can do as they are decreed as under the age of criminal responsibilty (ie couldn't be expected to know it was wrong!) 11 your on dodgy ground 12-16 juvenile etc
