Pre and post BTaP could be a great opportunity for more PH car based activities. Some ideas:
- arrive early Saturday afternoon to natter in the car park, look at cars and perhaps go for a drive (and maybe give passenger rides). This should also allow us to hit the bar early.....
- organise a drive to a country pub Sunday lunchtime for BTaP post mortem, hair-of-the-dog and recovery.

Anyone up for this? Also, anyone with local Wiltshire knowledge who might know some good drives and a pub?

How about the Trout at Tadpole bridge? Seems to have become popular for PH meets and its just up the road from Swindon

The lesson I learned at Folembray is..... you're not gonna want to do anything on Sunday...

A Saturday afternoon galavant sounds like a top idea though

I'm unable to attend BTaP myself , but if a drive and lunch is wanted, I'd suggest a trip to Avebury....good driving roads from M4 Junction 16, then lunch at The Red Lion followed by a walk around the village and it's stone circle - probably worth a phone call first as it is very popular. Bikers seem to like this pub as well.

Besides the car park at the pub, there are two (I think) public car parks within walking distance of the village centre otherwise they might not be able to cope with the onslaught of PH-ers! Have a good weekend!

What about some PH synchronised swimming in the hotel pool on Saturday afternoon - especially if it is raining.

I hope to sort out a scenic drive from Basingstoke. Starting at the usual spot at about 2:00pm arriving Swindon 4:00pm ish.

Haven't had the chance to think about it yet though. But the route will certainly avoid the motorway..Anyone want to join in?

I do hope so, but I'm awaiting a statement of intent from Mrs Zee as she works on Saturdays nowadays..

The Chiswick Chapter should be heading off for a "country lane" route to Swindon - yet to be decided but probably take a whole tank of fuel!

How about a Red Devils style human pyramid drive through the hotel car park? (any other stupid ideas?)

See how many PHers you can get in the hotel jacuzzi?

Is that Basingstoke leisure centre? I'd like to do that having missed out on the last few PH events - there must be loads of great roads between there and Swindon.

Not bloody many, judging by the pie quotient

Anyway - it's an image that doesn't bear thinking about... unless...

Yes it is, you'd be welcome, and yes there are. I have some favourites myself and will be putting together a route. Basingstokers (and you know who you are): don't feel obliged if you want to get there early but I will sort something out route wise - promise.

Should be a great day!

Swindon -> Avebury is a pretty good run. If it's a nice day you'll get swarmed by bikers.

There's a not very well marked tight lefthander about 3 miles out of Avebury. It's caught me out several times.....

Anyone going from the south coast ? I have a route planned from Poole, Whitsbury, ZigZag, East Knowle, Wyke, Lavington, Avebury to Swindon if anyone wants to join me. Not that I care but it would be good to have some company.

Bob

Edited as I cannot spell ZigZag (mmmmmmmm ZigZag hill !)

I'd suggest anytome from 1pm onwards flasher.

Depends when everyone wants to arrive, but I'm all for an early start so we get to the bar earlier.
