180bhp 730kg's

Mclaren Windscreen race tuned and prepped.
Prototype car, there were 7 others built with gullwings and slightly longer wheelbase.
This is the only one with a removable roof and windows.
Engine is from another car, the rest is built from scratch.

Was about to buy a MK1 Elise but saw this and my jaw just dropped.
Bought it last week.
Get so much attention in it its unreal.

You like??
Gimme your opinions on what you reckon.

I've driven the elise but fell in love with the wild looks of this car.
The chap that owned this was on the design team for the elise, this car was finished and on the track just before the elise was, both did a track day together at the same time.
This actual car ran rings round the MK1 elise on the track and is featured in Mags.
It handles like nothing I've ever driven, looks like nothing else on the road, was so close to parting with my cash for the elise then this turned up.
Always wanted an elise ever since I first saw on on the road, but there are so many now, your just another "ELISE DRIVER" dont get me wrong though I still love the elise....

This has done 155mph in Italy and still pulling (rev's maxed out in top gear)
0-60 would be a total guess but I would say under 5, I had a car before that did it under 5 seconds and this feels faster!

Unusal car, looks a tad like a Lancia Stratos from then front. No idea who made it though .
I would, if i saw it on the road, think it to be a kit car, a scaled down Le Mans type thingy.
180 horses of main stream engine, Vauxhall 2ltr 16V maybe?? OK I had my guesses what is it then .

Harry

Edited to say you've posted the answers at the same time as I was posting this, never mind you could have dragged it out until later tonight and bought a pie for the close's match .
Close with the kit car ehh

I really like it, although it's hard to get an overall view from the pictures you've posted. I agree with the "just another Elise driver" thing though, there's four in my little tiny village. Only one Supra though, and that's mine It's great being exclusive

The only bit I don't like is the blob things on the side pillars, what are they?

They suck air into the engine at the rear....I totally agree, its booked into the body shop next month to get those blended and smoothed into the body a little more.....they look a little overboard at the moment should look better whey they are done though.

Lemming>

It was featured in KIT CAR MAGAZINE.....This actual car was the feature trying to get hold of a copy at the moment.

JAN 97 It was in there.

Should be a good read!!

It really is quick though, I kid you not it shits me up and I'm used to fast cars, I think its half because its so low too.

Didn't the company that makes them go bust some time ago? Can't remember their name but it was always a great looker.

Had problems with overheating and misting up...

Probably the best of Mr Rafio's designs. Needs to be a bit bigger for a gnome to fit in I'm afraid.

Misting up is a problem on the side windows but seeing as I only drive it when its not raining, the windows and roof are always off!!!

Overheating is not really a problem, have a extra fan on the front rad, may fit another in the engine bay at some point just as a safeguard, the side pods on the roof are going to get modified to actually gulp the air in rather than a breeze just filtering in, they are getting reshaped to actually catch the air on the move which should improve air into the rear.

Not had any problems so far in that respect though!
These are just precautions for my own benefit really, I think the re-modified roof vents should really make a difference though when driving make them a little wider and a little lower more oval shaped and blend them in they are pretty useless a the moment as they are.

Rafio... of course... that's the monkey.

Seen a few of them in the back of the kit car mags, tend to be yellow though.

"RAFFO BELVA"

You won't find one like this buddy, they are longer now by 3 or 4 inches (not that I need any help in that department....hehe)....**COUGH**

Anyway they use a ford engine and suspension bits too now, still handle ok but not as good as one with proper set up race stuff, I guess I'm luck in the respect John and his team built this one as the demo with all the proper goodies, cruise down the road with the roof off, women just fall at my feet, the wife wants me to sell it now.....haha

I'd rather go through a divorce and lose my house than give this thing up!
