Dead Nokia 9110i
Discussion
I use said phone for out of hours support of internet servers. From it I can surf the web, ftp and telnet to my servers.
It has now died a horrible death.
So what should I replace it with? I guess a Bluetooth phone plus a Bluetooth PDA, but which ones?
Any advice is most welcome.
TIA

I've got the the 3970 and recently changed my phone to the 7650 (Nokia jobby with the camera).
Problem is that the contacts and organiser on the 7650 is pretty good, plus I can check my email. So my iPaq is rapidly becoming redundant.
Bluetooth is great but beware of using GPRS, I've run up a huge bill quite quickly and I think is bloody expensive compared to usual GSM data, plus the speed increase is barely noticable.
T68 is a good phone, I just prefer Nokia's menu (plus the Symbian OS which is the same as the communicator).

I upgraded from a 9110 to a 9210 a year ago and love it! Used to carry a PDA and phone - but what's the point when the 9210 does both so well - plus it synchs very well with the PC (apparently, not so good with the Mac). Wait for proper whizzy 3G stuff to become available would be my advice - there's lots on the way that should be hitting the shops next Jan after the Xmas sales have got rid of all the old stock.
Depends where you live - I think the Isle of Man has had 3G all year and Japan and Korea are all tooled up! The UK Vodaphone service is 'open' but not 'launched' whatever that means! Reading the news, the operators won't launch until the phones are available and the phones won't be available until the services launch - aaargh! Whatever, everyone seems to be promising somewhere in 2003 - so in IT terms that means 2005, right?
One thing I forgot to mention about the iPaq that should be reason for buying it in its own right. You can use the IR port as a TV remote for just about any make and model of TV.
This is great fun when in the pub and the football's on. Just set it up, discreetly flick the channel just as the t**t Beckham is taking that crucial set piece and watch the verbal abuse fly at the poor unsuspecting barman/maid as they then frantically punch keys on the remote bewildered at what has just happened.
I'm sure there's a cheaper way of acheiving the same effect but anyway...
