I went to the show on Monday dragging my wife and 18 week old baby daughter with me, and had a thoroughly good time - maybe because I hadn't been for three years. Even as I parked up when I arrived, it seemed that almost one car in five was a Scooby of some sort! Much better than the official Subura stand anyway!

By far the best stand was....Ford. Well they had a whole hall - including people dancing in transparent balls floating in the air. Very nice but I wouldn't buy a Focus because of it.

I think the suprise for me was how good the MG SV looks in the flesh. The Nobles were also very, very tempting. The Enzo display was, err, well, pathetic, and the TVR stand was absolutely heaving. The neighbouring Porsche stand was almost dead.

I would recommend you go if you get a chance. My daughter found it facinating and I hope was a good introduction to the world of petrol heads. She was very well behaved and only burst into tears once. This may be a concidence but we were at the Porsche stand looking at the Cayenne!

Cayenne is indeed a dog (allbeit an expensive one). I could have cried too. VW with PR methinks.

I enjoyed the day though... If any of you peeps are going, make sure you don't miss the fantastic stunt driving in the Minis. (Just don't listen to the rank taped commentary).

What time did you go on Monday?

I agree with nearly all the points you made there, the new Impreza although better than the one it replaces still makes me feel sick(that scoop)

My time on the Porsche stand was about as long as the time I spent on the Fiat stand, it just looked boring IMO.

The TVR stand looked great and as you correctly put it the Enzo stand was nothing spectacular.

My battery on my digital camera ran out just as I was on the TVR stand(managed to catch the Speed 12)......I just had to take too many pics of that ugly Enzo didn't I!

The MG was the busiest stand when I was there, the new SV looks amazing

Oh yeah I forgot to say, it was really good to see the Rover/MG stand very busy. I think some models were 20% off at the show. But it looked like people were all over the cars in a way that they weren't at the Citroen stand (mmmm...Picasso). I can't wait to get a ZT with one of those 385 bhp V8s in them.

Hate to admit TVR stand was the dogs b******s, well done you guys. Lotus stand was well - v v disappointing, thought Porsche and MG were both in joint pole position for ugliest car in show award - but congrats due to MG for effort - hope its a resounding success - will def test one when available. Porsche where do you think you are at - what a totally pointless car.

I went on monday too aand agree that the Mini adventure and the TVR stand were the highlights.

Unfortunately everything else was average to poor - Lotus sprayed a car silver to remind us its got an aluminium chassis - great...

Although I'm going to invest in a fleet of simulators for next years show as there seemed to be one on most manufacturers stands so I was going to target the electric garage doors companies and the like!

I actually went there on the monday because of the careers day stuff but it appeared that unless you are a) still at school or b) an engineer you can't get a job with cars...

I went yesterday and had a good day out. I'd agree that Lotus stand was poor and the chaps were fairly unfriendly if asked anything. TVR was the complete opposite and we got a good look around all thier cars, along with tea, coffee, dips etc out the back. One of our party even had a good chat to Peter Wheeler regarding TVR at Le Mans (which may happen). New Nobles were pretty good, Invicta looked nice, MG was OK. What's the point in that Porsche Cayanne turbo thing ???
