The real deal or a cr@p fake?
Discussion
Your opinions on this Ferrari which was at Croft this morning. I'm not sure if its a fake, as the guy has it out on the track and I doubt you'd track a real Ferrari, but I'm not sure:
And this is almost definatly a fake. I wasn't sure at first, but then the crappy noise it made, the front bumper that looked like it was made from paper mache, the fact that no one would ever, EVER track an F40. Oh, and the fact that the body panels were held together by electrical ape
. You think its a good fake?:

They don't look fake to me i must say fakes usually ahve tiny disks or stupid large ofset on the wheels to fill the arch. plenty of ferraris are tracked which pleases me hate to see them driven with a stupid grin and glasses at what seems to always be 50mph lol the yellow one looks like a tuned 355 or 348 to me.

Second one is NOT a fake, and it certainly isnt an F40 kit car.
As previously posted, its a Koenig F48

That will do me. I kinda like the looks to, in a 1991 supercar way.
Prehaps you should ask this at Fchat?

Anyone who claims no Ferrari owner tracks their cars is an idiot. The FOC have regular trackdays and I've seen at least 2 different F40s on track... and I've only been to two events. Nevermind VMax, which regularly has a plethora of Ferraris present and every other trackday normally has at least one Ferrari, if its a decent trackday event.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry for saying real Ferraris aren't tracked. I would love to see them on a track, but so few seem to (well, I have never seen one on a track). Anyone know how much the Koenig is worth then?
Still begs the question as to why, if this guy could afford an F48 he ws holding panels together with yellow electrical tape!

Had a dig around and in 2001 at Goodwood the estimated price at auction was £50-60k. But the car didnt sell.
Looking on the Koenig specials website the twin turbo engine conversion is € 35.500 on its own. the body kit is another € 35.000 (unless you go carbon/kevlar.... then its actually € 47.000), the wheels are € 975 each for the front, € 1.190 for the rear (if they are 17's, 18's are more), € 475 for the exhaust....
Then you have to add the suspension, brakes, track widening mods. The air filters alone are € 160

So to build one of these little beasties aint exactly cheap.
oh, almost forgot, the clutch is € 2.550 including fitting and the transmition is € 3.000 including fitting......
But its pretty fast I suspose....
performance:
0-100 km/h 3,9 sec.
0-200 km/h 12,5 sec.
standing 1/4 mile 12 sec.
top speed 320 km/h
driving performance depends on gear ratio
yeah, I know, can already see my coat on the hook, walking there now
