Cracking Goodwood Weekend :)
Discussion
Excellent time as usual. Luuuurvely weather and the pleasure of being on the airfield to watch the 2 Spits take off and land and park in front of us :) Only trouble was the backwash blew my Paddock Pass off!
Saturday morning parked up in Car Park B. Within a 10meter radius of the Sagaris there were more TVRs than any other make! Tuscan, Chimps, Griffs, 3000M, Granturas! COuldnt believe, we all b1tch on about not enough sold and here they were out-representing Porsche, Jag, MG, Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes! Was a bit shocked I can tell you!
Then of course there were the drives down to Goodwood on Sat and Sun mornings at 7am :hehe:

Glad you had a good time! Is there any nicer noise than the Spit's Merlin?

Yes...the noise of 2 Merlins! Esp when it is Ray Hanna stepping out of one of the cockpits right in front of you!

Went for all three days ... thought Luzzi was better value in that Barracuda!!
Loved the 'Cuda! Anyone notice that owner Graham Bryant had got a similar reg to his famous racing Cobra GPG 4C? (In fact I think it might even have been GPG 4C on the Cuda). Hardman in the 330LMB on Sunday was pretty tasty (shame Rahal's antics had killed the NSR tyre). Also, Tambay/Minassian Cobra was spectacularly driven.
Stunning event, as usual. His Lordship continues to prove what a bunch of w*nkers all other race promoters are - esp the poison dwarf, thief in chief at the helm of all-your-wages-per-ticket F1.
I'm reminded of the Powertour series in 2000 when their ideas of 'family day out' added a shite funfair and a marching band on the track between races. F

Anyone else see that amazing race at Goodwood between the two Ford Galaxies, a Falcon and tiny-looking Mustang - and all chased by Karthikeyan in a very sideways Lotus Cortina?
Yes, saw Sir John Whitmore driving the Mustang spin into the gravel trap right infront of us. The Galaxies appeared to take up the whole of the track, must be terrifying to have had one locked on to your bumper
Fantastic race, great event all round.
Can anyone think of a better motorsport event, anywhere in the world, than the Goodwood Revival?
No GP comes close, all world rallies are now identikit events with no flavour, and there has been no real racing at Le Mans for nigh on 10 years.
I'm sure there might be an event in the States, I bet a good Nascar race is good fun for the locals, but I reckon the revival is a serious contender for any other event anywhere.

Mmmmmmm, that Bizzarrini is
BTW, does anyone know how the chap is that crashed in the 500cc (Cooper stylee lightweights) qualifying on Friday morning? His car came to a halt right in front of us after he rolled it. Hopefully nothing worse than a few broken bones.
It just reminded me how brave these chaps are racing old cars with so little safety features.....never mind doing it for a living back in the day

Apart from losing my car in the car park for 45 mins!! hhmm missus didnt quite see ther funny side although some of the cars in the car parks were awesome.. excusing the normal exotica.. Porsche Speedster, 300 SL Gulfwings, DB4 & 6, Morses Jag were just fantastic (and thanks to Alan.. who let me drive his Cobra around the car park!!!)
although could anyone tell me what that most gorgeous silver drop top Ferrari was parked behind the paddock between the Alpha Romeosand before the hospitality overlooking the planes ?? sorry about the poor description...
thanks
